Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara hosts Indian travel trade delegation to promote Nepal tourism

POKHARA: Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, part of The Centara Collection, hosted a four-day familiarisation trip for leading Indian travel trade and media professionals. The initiative showcased Pokhara's tourism offerings and sought to strengthen confidence in Nepal's tourism sector.

Organised under the resort-led #NepalCalling campaign, the initiative aimed to reassure travellers from India, Nepal's largest international source market, that the country remains open, safe and welcoming. By providing an authentic, on-the-ground experience, the resort sought to equip Indian travel trade and media representatives with first-hand knowledge to confidently recommend Pokhara's lakes, mountains and hospitality to travellers in India.

The four-day, three-night programme brought together representatives from major Indian travel companies, including TBO, TripJack, MakeMyTrip (MMT), Travclan and Travelbullz. Participants travelled from various locations in India via New Delhi and Kathmandu to Pokhara, following the primary transit route used by Indian holidaymakers visiting Nepal.

The itinerary began with a welcome cocktail dinner at the resort. On the second day, delegates completed a scenic hike to the hilltop village of Kaskikot, where they explored the village on foot and visited the historic Kaskikot Durbar. The day concluded with a gala dinner featuring live traditional Nepali music and dance performances under the stars.

On the final day, the group visited key landmarks across the Pokhara Valley, including the Pumdikot hilltop viewpoint, the World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Cave. The itinerary also included a lunch stop at Pavilions The Farm, a visit to Pokhara's Lakeside area, a farewell barbecue cocktail dinner and a karaoke night at the resort.
